Older Computers
June 1, 2008 on 10:48 pm | In Computers | No CommentsComputer technology has advanced quickly in the past 18 months to 2 years.
We have many customers who have had problems with their PC’s and our recommendation (prior to repairs) has been that they do a “mini upgrade” because it is inexpensive and will allow them greater scope to perform tasks and surf the internet.
I must add that we have no problem working on older computers. Some users have no need for a super fast computer and we respect that. However, for a few hundred dollars + labour and GST, a lot is possible so its worth thinking about.

Notebooks
June 1, 2008 on 10:17 pm | In Computers | No CommentsOur service centre has been getting a steady stream of notebook PC’s with varying problems. Most new units have insufficient RAM to capably run Vista and a simple RAM upgrade is all that is required.
Oftentimes, home users have not kept their anti-virus or spyware protection up to date and this can allow all forms of virus’ or spyware (including the newest varities) to intrude. All PC owners should be diligent in this area.
Hello world!
May 9, 2008 on 1:18 am | In Electronic Items | No CommentsYesterday we had a mini drawer unit (used to auto select random numbers for raffles, lotto, bingo etc) come in for repair to the control panel and a broken toggle switch. The new toggle switch was obtained from Dick Smith Electronics and replaced. The panel cover was removed and given a good clean before the circuitry was checked for faults. It was then put back together and returned to a local hotel for use.
